		<description>You can have performing self-managed teams with some of the team members lacking people skills. To achieve this you need someone who, while technically competent, has very strong people skills (a Mom, of whichever gender). For severely introverted teams, you may need more than one. Another asset is a team member with business sense (yeah, like a BA). The &quot;Mom&quot; tends to handle the social lubrication that is otherwise missing, and the business aware guy (again gender non-specific) makes sure they are fulfilling business needs, sometimes including schedule, and clamps down on &quot;hobby projects&quot; that have no business value; they&#039;re just &quot;cool&quot;.

I have seen this in action. It can work. YMMV.</description>
